We went up to northern CA this weekend to visit my aunt and uncle and my cousin, whose little boy was celebrating his first birthday.

I can't hear a thing...
I went to the Taylor Swift concert tonight with Barbie. We had so much fun, but there were 20,000 shrill, screaming 12 year olds. I cannot hear anything right now. Barb and I felt so old, we said next time we are gonna wear earplugs, that will hopefully tune out the shrillness at least.
But Taylor put on a great show, and for the encore Katy Perry came out and performed with her. We had great seats and had such a good time. Will definitely go see her again....
And while I was browsing youtube for the above video, I found these videos of her concerts last year at Staples, when she had John Mayer come play and sing with her. I love, love, LOVE John Mayer!

Movie day
I went to two movies today, Alice in Wonderland, and Remember Me. Alice was ok, cute. Kinda dark. And although Johnny Depp was good in it, I like to look at him when he is in a movie, and since he was dressed as the Mad Hatter in this one, it just wasn't the same. I prefer my Johnny in a Captain Jack Sparrow costume.
But, Remember Me was fantastic, totally not what I expected! And Robert Pattinson was HOTT in it! That boy can act, and he's more than just a vampire! I think he might be my new favorite. :)

Ride 'em cowboy
We went to Arizona this weekend to watch my little cousins rodeo. Trey just does calf riding, but Hailey and Tatum do it all...team roping, pole bending, goat tying, and barrel racing.

Obsessed
I love to read, I mean really love to read. My books are special friends, and when I get into a good book, I really get into it. I'm right there with the characters, feeling what they feel, living what they are living. So I had decided recently to start the Twilight series. Yes, I know I'm late jumping on that bandwagon, but I just hadn't had time to read them. So anyway, I started book one, late Tuesday night and oh my goodness! I couldn't put it down. I read all 500 pages, in just about 4 and a half hours. And I totally get it now, I get what all those 14 year old girls were swooning over. Edward Cullen...wow, just wow!!! So in typical fashion, I'm officially obsessed. (This is why I cannot ever try drugs, I have a very addictive personality, I find something I like and I surround myself with it, every minute I can.) I went out and bought the movie, and the rest of the books. I haven't started New Moon yet, I'm not sure if I wanna read it right away, or wait until the happy glow from the first one subsides. Anyway, I'm gonna watch the movie tonight, I've heard it's not that great, but I'm sure it will be my new favorite movie for now. Or at least until New Moon comes out on DVD. Which by the way is March 20th. I already checked. And Eclipse comes out the day after my birthday, so guess who will be standing in line at midnight. :)

Las Vegas & Utah
We went to Vegas this past weekend to see Garth Brooks. We left Thursday morning and met my aunt and cousins from Arizona there. Thursday night we went to see Carrot Top, who turned out to be surprisingly very funny. I'd go see him again. Friday, Jay drove from Utah with Chloe to hang out with us during the day. We went to Bass Pro Shops and looked at all the animals. Then we met up with my cousins and walked around Caesar's Palace. We saw that Pete Rose was doing a signing, and there was no one in line, so we asked if we could take a picture with him. He said yes, but didn't even stand up or anything like that. He should be a little nicer since we were there for 15 minutes and no one else even came up to him. He's old news, and should realize it. Anyway, after that we headed over to the Wynn to get out tix for Garth Brooks! The concert was at 8, so we wandered that casino for a bit. It's very fancy shmancy.
The Garth concert was AMAZING!!! It was a very small venue and just him and his guitar. He interacted with the audience throughout the show, even taking requests. He just played whatever he felt like playing. Then Trisha Yearwood came out and they did their song together, and then she sang some of her songs while he accompanied her on the guitar. Then because it was a Friday night and there was no second show, he played an extra 45 minutes for us. All in all, it was one of the best concerts I've been too.
Saturday morning we left Vegas, and headed to Utah. We went to this little town near Zion Canyon and walked around and did a litte shopping. On the way back to my brother's, we stopped at this abandoned ghost town. It was a mile or two down this dirt road, in the middle of nowhere, and it was almost dark so it was a little creepy. We checked out the cemetary, which was a little strange since there were mounds were the bodies were, like they weren't buried deep enough or something. Then we climbed over the fence and checked out the inside of the houses. They were dark, and a little scary.
Sunday, we just played at my brother's house and then went and got Coldstones. Monday morning we headed home.
Here's some pics....

Jealous???
I went to the beach today! Yup, the beach, in October. And it was absolutely beautiful! Aiden and I went with my friend from work and her little girl. The kids had a blast playing in the water, while Nell and I sat in the sand and enjoyed the warm sun. I'm sure all the people in the rest of the country who are freezing in their snow boots are jealous! And it's supposed to be warm all week. 80's and balmy...perfect fall weather. :)
PS: I'd have pictures, but I left my camera in the car :(

Now I want a Mac
So I'm working on the slide show for my grandma's memorial, a good friend who does sound and A/V stuff for a living is helping me put it together. We were doing it today and he was using a program on his Mac, I think it was iMovie, anyway it was amazing! And so much fun and looks like you can do so many things with it. I'm not getting a Mac, but I totally want this program. Why can't PCs do this too???
ps: I'll post the show after the memorial, I don't want any one to see it before then...

Harvest Crusade 2009
We went to the Harvest Crusade last night at Anaheim Stadium. It was the 20th Southern CA Crusade and so they had a special night planned. We got there early, before the gates opened, and it was already crowded. It ended up being standing room only, 50,000 people got in to the stadium and 5,000 were turned away! And boy did they miss a great show. Chris Tomlin performed, Greg Laurie had a great message, and there were fireworks! Because it was the 20th year, after the alter call (where 4,500 people came forward to change their lives) Chris had a mini concert and there was a 15 minute firework show. Check out the videos I found, the sound quality sucks, but you get the idea. Let me tell you, 50,000 people singing How Great is Our God is an AWESOME thing. It was an amazing night! Go here for the official webcast of the night. (Friday and Saturday nights webcasts are there too.)

Food coma
I just got back from the OC fair and my tummy is full of fried deliciousness. We ate, in this order, chocolate covered bacon, bbq'd corn on the cob, deep fried oreos, caramel apple, cheese fries, and deep fried cookie dough! But no garlic fries. We saw a sign for garlic fries when we first walked in but didn't get them and spent the next few hours trying to find them again. When we found the place with the sign, they didn't have them! What a disappointment. Anyway, I think I'm gonna be sick. Good thing it's bedtime, because the food coma has set in and I'm so sleepy.
FYI...chocolate covered bacon: not horrible, but not as good as just chocolate or just bacon. Fried cookie dough is better than fried oreos. =)

It's been a long while
Oh my goodness, I haven't been on here for a while! Ooops! So let's see....what's new? Well there's a lot, and not alot. My grandma is still sick, that's getting to be a frustrating situation. I'l post more about that later. Been having a fun summer, my bro and sis in law brought my niece out here for the 4th. It was my dad's 60th birthday. She's getting so big, I miss her so much when she's not here, and am sad that I don't get to be a daily part of her life. Can't wait til she's old enough for her parents to just ship her out here to spend time.
My cousins also came down from Northern CA to spend some time. They've got 3 little kids so that was fun. Lots of playing in the pool. We went to DownTown Disney and had ice cream and fireworks. Thats always fun.
Here's some pic from the summer so far. I promise it won't take me so long to post again....

Amazing Grace
I went to the Chris Tomlin concert last night. It was at the Gibson Amphitheatre and it was AMAZING! We had great seats. He put on a fantastic show. The theatre holds roughly 3000 people and they were all on their feet for the whole 2 hour show. The video above is not from our show but he did this song and it was awesome. It made me cry! So moving. He also sang a new song from his newest album with a childrens choir from Uganda. They were so cute. So full of energy. I video'd it on my phone and was planning on putting it on here, but the sound quality is horrible. So I'll try to find it on youtube some where. You can find out more about Chris and his music here.
